Anyone else out there tired
of winter yet? Don’t get us wrong…we love Winnipeg in all its seasons and splendour, but after being so cold and snowy for so very long – come Spring
Break, we say enough is enough, and we plan to break out of winter in a
whirlwind week of fun!
The Children’s Museum will be
planting the seeds of creativity from Saturday, March 29 to Friday April 4
during this year’s Spring Break Line-Up. Throughout Spring Break, kids can
participate in exciting activities with special guests daily and watch their
learning grow.
Kicking off our action-packed
week, the Children’s Museum will be hosting the special ticketed Junior JUNOS
event on Saturday, March 29 from 9:30AM – 12:00PM in collaboration with
the 2014 JUNO Awards.
Music not really your scene?
Then stand back, because we’re going to perform some SCIENCE on Sunday, March
30 and Wednesday, April 2! Let’s Talk Science groups from the University ofWinnipeg and the University of Manitoba will conduct a series of public
experiments and hands-on science activities that are sure to cause an
‘explosive’ reaction of delight for museum visitors.
The fun continues Monday,
March 31 when our creative and resourceful friends from Art City will show our
guests how to find art in everyday materials and help kids create their very
own takeaway masterpieces.

Is there an owl in here?
Why, yes there certainly is!
Or at least there WILL BE when we’re joined on Tuesday, April 1 by special
guests, the Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre!
We’re not kidding when say
that April Fool’s Day is for the birds – the Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation
Centre will be onsite from 11AM to 3PM to show off some of their fine feathered
friends and to share little known facts about these special birds as part of
their avian display.
Last but certainly not least,
on Friday, April 4 Steve Rempel and the team from Prairie Exotics will be at
the Children’s Museum to showcase a variety of exotic reptiles, amphibians, and
insects from their collection. Guests can learn more about these unique animals
while getting up close and personal with these exotic creatures!
To learn more about any of
these great activities for kids (and the young at heart!), see the Spring Break
Line-Up at www.childrensmuseum.com.
